List Of Home Treatments for Babies' Loose Motion

Babies' loose motion is a common condition that causes irritable crying and fussiness. It's also called a “babysitter's nightmare” and is a common problem among new mothers. Although loose motion will generally go away on its own after several days, this is the worst time to try a home remedy.

If you think your baby might be suffering from loose motion, the best thing to do is get medical help. In the meantime, here are some home remedies for diarrhea in toddlers.

1. Cucumber Water

Cucumber is a popular home remedy for diarrhea in infants. A glass of cucumber water — the kind from a can — may provide relief for a baby with loose motions. The fluid, like milk, contains the nutrients the baby is lacking. Although most of the vitamin C is lost from canned vegetables, a cup or two a day is an excellent source of vitamin C.

To make the remedy, buy a small, straight cucumber and wash the pieces to remove the seeds and skin. Cut the cucumber into 4-inch-long pieces and cut out the middle third of the cucumber to make it easier to digest.

Place the pieces in a blender or food processor and blend on high for 10 seconds. Pour the liquid into a bowl, and strain it into a sippy cup or measuring cup.

If your baby is over 5 months old, a doctor or baby nurse will have the appropriate amount of vitamin C for you.

If your baby is younger, you may need to be a little more cautious, and make sure your baby gets a daily serving of this nutritious food.
